The Crimson King by UnInfinitum The Crimson King by UnInfinitum
My take on the Crimson King from Stephen King's Dark Tower series. The character itself is never solidly defined and changes from scene to scene; from an old man, to sorcerer, to an ageless spider demon thingy. He also appears as the evil force behind many of King's other novels, tied in in some sort of way to relate all of his novels through an inter-dimensional timeline. It's complicated.

Anyways the novels are well worth the read, and I'd recommend them to anyone who likes a grand scale adventure story.

Might model this in 3d too, but that's up in the air.

All hail the Crimson King. (Also mildly interesting fact, he (The Crimson King) appears as himself in Insomnia in an attempt ot blow up some little boy. Very strange.)

The rusted chains of prison moons
Are shattered by the sun
I walk a road, horizons change
The tournament's begun
The purple piper plays his tune
The choir softly sing
Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
For the court of the crimson king

The keeper of the city keys
Put shutters on the dreams
I wait outside the pilgrim's door
With insufficient schemes
The black queen chants
the funeral march
The cracked brass bells will ring
To summon back the fire witch
To the court of the crimson king

The gardener plants an evergreen
Whilst trampling on a flower
I chase the wind of a prism ship
To taste the sweet and sour
The pattern juggler lifts his hand
The orchestra begin
As slowly turns the grinding wheel
In the court of the crimson king

On soft gray mornings widows cry
The wise men share a joke
I run to grasp divining signs
To satisfy the hoax
The yellow jester does not play
But gently pulls the strings
And smiles as the puppets dance
In the court of the crimson king

What do you think the song means?  I have my own interpretation... but I'd love to hear yours.

Ooo that's challenging. At first glance, the lyrics have a very dark mystical quality, similar to Narnia or Middle-Earth or The Dark Crystal. I presume it was written as a fantastical commentary on '60s England and its involvement in the Vietnam war, but what I think at first. What's yours?

I can't remember the full list, but I don't believe he was in Carrie.
I do remember that both the Crimson king and Randall Flagg are a few of King's characters who are referenced, or are even the main villains in a lot of his books though.

I believe it is suggested that the shape shifting spider which calls itself Pennywise is the crimson kings mother, but she is referred to as the Red Queen in Dark Tower.
